TISSL and J2 EPoS solution is on the menu at Rick Stein’s Restaurant Stein's Fish & Chips restaurant and takeaway is running J2 580s J2 Retail Systems and its channel partner, hospitality solutions specialist TISSL, have served up a new point-of-sale solution at one the Padstow restaurants of award-winning TV chef, restauranteur and author, Rick Stein. Following a period of rigorous testing, Rick and Jill Stein’s restaurants have chosen TISSL as the EPoS supplier for their Stein’s Fish & Chips restaurant and takeaway. The TISSL software solution is running on J2 580 PC-based touchscreen tills. The month-long trial focused on three key operational areas: turnover, efficiency and wastage. The introduction of hand-held units linked into the EPoS improved efficiency to such an extent that turnover was increased by 23% in the takeaway operation alone. “By using the hand-held units, all orders within our 55-seat restaurant were processed within 15 minutes,” said Rupert Wilson, General Manager at The Seafood Restaurant, Padstow. “TISSL spent time understanding our business and identifying areas where we could make improvements. They worked with us to deliver a tailored and scalable solution designed to operate in both a fine dining and takeaway environment. We have been bowled over by the system, and this is why they are now our EPoS supplier.” The new solution also made a significant impact on shrinkage, dramatically reducing wastage through faster processing of orders, tighter inventory and stock control, and more efficient back-office reporting. In the month following installation of the TISSL and J2 solution, Stein’s Fish & Chips shop had reduced overall food wastage by a staggering 74%.
